REASON 3: Your future customers are literally around the corner, and mobile can get them in your door.
In an earlier post we mentioned that 90% of users acted within 24 hours of searching for a local business on their smartphone.
Does this mean anything to your business? Do you think it is important to have a mobile presence online? There are so many reasons to make sure you provide an easy and trouble-free mobile experience for your customers, but the biggest one being that you don’t want to lose that customer after they find your business on their mobile device. It only has to be a simple site, but it is extremely important that it has a few key elements to ensure maximum usability:
– A Tap-To-Call button to make it easy for users to call you.
– A location map to make it easy for users to find you. This will usually be integrated with the GPS on your smartphone too.
– A link to your Desktop Website should they wish to get more information that you have left off your mobile site (usually to speed up load times).
– A Contact Form to enable users to easily send you an email from within your mobile site.
Making the change can be easier than you think. Honk Marketing is currently offering a 5 page mobile-enabled version of your current website for just $97 (valued at $497). If you would like to take advantage of this incredible offer, just click here to have us contact you with more details.
REASON 2: 57% of users say they won’t recommend a business with a poorly-designed mobile site!
So if 57% of users say they won’t recommend a business with a poorly-designed mobile site, imagine what this figure is if you don’t even have a mobile-enabled website!
Pull out your smartphone right now (if you don’t have one, ask someone else to do this for you) and go to your website and see how it looks. Don’t put it off, do it right now. What do you see? How does your website look? It’s ok if it looks terrible. The main thing is that now you can’t pretend to avoid the subject. You know if it needs attention or not, and you can set plans in motion to change it.
According to The Mobile Playbook, just released by Google, ” Your #1 priority is to build a mobile website”.
(We discussed other stats from The Mobile Playbook in the last post)
In simple terms, if you DON’T have a mobile optimised version of your website, you are throwing away a large chunk of your business.
So 57% of users say they won’t recommend a business with a poorly-designed mobile site, which is quite an eye-opening figure, and just to make sure you are paying attention, check out this related statistic…
40% of users have turned to a competitor’s site after a bad mobile experience. Wow! Now do you want to get your website optimised for mobile?
So take into consideration that one third of all web searches on a mobile phone have local intent (discussed in the previous post), and then consider that the people searching are EXPECTING to find a mobile-enabled website, hopefully you can understand how important it is for you to set into motion some changes immediately.
In the next post you will discover another of The Top 3 Reasons Google Says You Should Embrace Mobile.
REASON 1: 95% of smartphone users have searched for local info
There are now more people searching the internet on their smart phones than on their desktop computers. This means that YOUR customers are looking for you RIGHT NOW on their mobile phones.
The new generation of mobile users are seldom just randomly surfing the web. They are looking for specific information about your business, whether it be your opening hours, your location, phone number, services or what your deals are.
Google has recently released The Mobile Playbook, which contains some statistics that will open your eyes to the rapidly changing trends:
– Nearly one third of all internet searches are done using a mobile device
– 95% of smartphone users have searched for local info.
– 61% called a business after searching.
– 59% visited in person and…
– 90% of these users acted within 24 hours.
So from these figures alone, I encourage you to start thinking differently about your business and your mobile policies. Can you afford to just bury your head in the sand?
The question is no longer “Why should I invest in mobile?”, but “How should I invest in mobile?”.

I am having a Sunday that is very contemplative, and I came across this video being shared on my Facebook Wall. I felt compelled to share it with you.
Compassion is a characteristic that is just as important in business as it is in your everyday personal life. Unfortunately, most people don’t understand what true compassion is according to the Dalai Lama. His message on Compassion is an essential read if you are looking for more clarity and understanding on this.
Please watch this video of an incredible man doing compassionate deeds in India, and then read the quote below from the Dalai Lama about compassion.
“Because we all share an identical need for love, it is possible to feel that anybody we meet, in whatever circumstances, is a brother or sister. No matter how new the face or how different the dress and behavior, there is no significant division between us and other people. It is foolish to dwell on external differences, because our basic natures are the same.
Ultimately, humanity is one and this small planet is our only home, If we are to protect this home of ours, each of us needs to experience a vivid sense of universal altruism. It is only this feeling that can remove the self-centered motives that cause people to deceive and misuse one another. If you have a sincere and open heart, you naturally feel self- worth and confidence, and there is no need to be fearful of others. I believe that at every level of society – familial, tribal, national and international – the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion. We do not need to become religious, nor do we need to believe in an ideology. All that is necessary is for each of us to develop our good human qualities. I try to treat whoever I meet as an old friend. This gives me a genuine feeling of happiness. It is the practice of compassion”.
I would encourage you to read the whole message here.
