Jamie Houston, the ‘back end’ guy, lives with his wife and two young sons in the ‘best city in the world’ Wellington, New Zealand! He has a 25 year background in sales and marketing and has been a manager of several successful large musical instrument retail stores in both New Zealand and Australia. Over the last 8-9 years he has invested many hours educating himself about marketing, and more specifically, about helping small businesses market their business more effectively. Out of this knowledge and expertise came Honk Marketing, a highly specialised ‘back end’ marketing consultancy.
Jamie has trained with some of the most sought after marketers, both online and offline, and is a Certified Back End Specialist with the inspirational entrepreneur and marketer Steve Rosenbaum, based in Texas.
Jamie has clients in New Zealand, Australia and even Denmark, and loves connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs, as he is a keen networker and ‘connector’.
Besides his passion for marketing and back end systems, he is an ardent jazz pianist, saxophonist and super-enthusiastic ukulele proponent. In fact, every Wednesday afternoon, he teaches piano to 5 young pupils who come to his house as a way of sharing his passion for music, but also to get his head ‘out’ of the computer and into the creative space.
